When meeting an electric scooter travelling in the opposite direction, must you keep at least 1 m of lateral clearance?

No. The duty to keep a minimum clearance of 1 m applies to overtaking a bicycle, an electric scooter or a personal mobility aid, under art. 24 para. 2 of the Road Traffic Act. Meeting a vehicle coming the other way is not covered by this requirement. When meeting, you must keep a safe clearance, but the rules set no minimum of 1 m.
